Bardock, often mistakenly referred to as "Burdock," is a Saiyan warrior from the Dragon Ball franchise. He is the father of Goku and Raditz.
Bardock is initially portrayed as a low-class Saiyan soldier who leads a squad of warriors. He possesses a strong sense of Saiyan pride and initially lacks empathy.
His first appearance was in the 1990 TV special, Dragon Ball Z: Bardock – The Father of Goku. In this story, Bardock gains the ability to see into the future after a brutal battle. He foresees Frieza's betrayal and the destruction of Planet Vegeta. Despite his warnings, he is unable to convince his fellow Saiyans and confronts Frieza, ultimately perishing along with his planet.
The character has been featured in other media, including the video game Dragon Ball Online.
